Happy Monday everybody! Due to the unfinished memorization chart, all friday rehearsals will be from 8am to 3pm until further notice. THIS INCLUDES GAMEDAYS!!!!!! There will be time for lunch, so make sure you bring a lunch or money. This schedule will likely continue until the third movement is memorized and on the field. If anyone has any issues, please come speak to me in my office during lunch or immediately after school.

Avondale Parade

The Avondale Veterans Parade is a go! It is this Saturday morning (my apologies for the late notice). We will meet in the band room at 8:00 am. Procedures will be a lot like the state fair parade. I am asking that band members carpool to Avondale with instruments. If a few parents would be able to volunteer their services as drivers, it would be an amazing help. We will dress in pants and shoes at the band room, load vehicles, and drive to Avondale. When we arrive, we will dress in the rest of our uniforms, warm up, and do the parade. Following the parade, we will get out of uniform, load up, and go back to the school. Once your uniforms and instruments are properly hung and put away, you will be free to go. Details on the Parade Route to follow.

The Memorization Chart will be posted in the band room tomorrow. We will hand out Part 3 music today, and drill for the second movement on Wednesday. Priority right now goes to memorization of Parts 1 and 2! I would like to be able to at least play them both on the field for homecoming next week. Be prepaired for a fast paced two weeks preparing the first and second movements for the show.

This week in marching band

Happy Saturday everyone! Remember, our next event is Home Football vs. Florence on Friday. PIRATES PART I NEEDS TO BE MEMORIZED BY WEDNESDAY!!!! It would be best if you did this during sectionals, I would like to devote class and rehearsal time to the little nit-picky things and drill, and not memorization. We will be performing the first movement and eye of the tiger for that football game, so be prepared!

The State Fair Parade and bandshell performance is THIS Saturday.  Students will take thier entire uniform home on Friday after rehearsal. Instruments will be loaded into a truck on Friday, supplied this weekend by the Borrego's.

On Saturday at 8:30 a.m., Students will arrive in full uniform to our designated line-up area, located on Colorado Ave. between Pitkin Avenue and E. Routt Avenue. Parents must drop off their students on Quincy street.  The band must be warmed up and in place by 9:30 am.

After the parade, Parents must pick up their students on Court Street and 8th avenue. Instruments will be reloaded into the truck. Water and snacks will be provided for students.  Students will be on their own for lunch, although it is incouraged that they eat together, and stay together as much as possible.

All students must report for the bandshell performance at the entrance on Small Ave. IN UNIFORM READY TO PLAY at 2:15 sharp. We will warm up, and then play at the band shell at 3:15.  Following the performance, students will be released. Instruments must be loaded to be taken back to the school. Help will be need at PCHS unloading instruments.

Our tentative line-up for the band shell performance is:

Eye of the Tiger, Pirates Part 1, School Song x2.

Be sure and drink lots of water leading up to Saturday. Get a head start on Hydration!!!
